One of my favourite local websites for finding free things to do is Walk NI – It’s a fantastic resource for finding information walking routes in Northern Ireland. Here you’ll find info on on coastal walks, parkland walks, urban walks, riverside walks and family walks.
We have used this site of often to find hidden gems on our doorstep and for times when the kids just need to go Free Range for a while to burn off some of all that energy children are blessed with that parents can see as a curse come bedtime.
The latest venture was to the Colin Glen Gruffalo Trail. A short visit between other tasks for A and his granny did not disappoint. The attention to detail was spectacular and it was well worth a visit.
Granny and A did the walk for free, but I see from the Colin Glen website, you can pay for Gruffalo Tours with various packages. Probably because I’m not yet fully out of the mindset of planning kids birthdays, but I can’t help think that if you got the weather, this would make a wonderful place to celebrate a birthday for a little Gruffalo fan.
